The persistent short, sharp squeaking of a wheelchair rolling, Two decades of a life derailed, My spine, a shattered column, The crosscountry I ran, unfinished now forever. I squeeze my eyes shut trying to sleep  And the demons scream from inside, Your leg is on fire, the relentless cascade,  My physician calls the phantom limb. Feeling the sand getting robbed, From under my feet at the beach. Before the stumble, this crushing vanquish. To trot and leap, as a boy full of life, Revel in the glitter of childhood joys. മരിക്കാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവൻ, പകൽ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ,  ഒരു നിഴൽ പോലെ   കൂട്ടായി ശ്വാസവും, ഹൃദയമിടിപ്പും മരിക്കാത്ത ചില ഓർമകളും മാത്രം. വേറെന്തെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടോ, കൂട്ടായി ഈ യാത്രയിൽ? പുലർകാലം ഉണർത്തുന്നു,  സന്ധ്യ മയക്കുന്നു,  യാന്ത്രികമാം ദിനചര്യകൾ,  മരവിച്ച ചിന്തകൾ സ്വപ്നങ്ങളില്ല, മോഹങ്ങളില്ല, ആഗ്രഹങ്ങളുമില്ല, ഒന്നിനും കാത്തിരിപ്പില്ല,  ഒന്നിനും വേഗതയില്ല. ചിരി മാഞ്ഞുപോയൊരു മുഖം,  കണ്ണുകളിൽ ശൂന്യത, പറയാതെ പോയൊരു കഥ, കേൾക്കാത്തൊരു പാട്ട്. ജീവിതം എന്ന ഭാരം,  ചുമലിൽ താങ്ങുന്നു, മരണം വരാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് മാത്രം,  ഇനിയും മുന്നോട്ട്. എന്തിനെന്നറിയാതെ, എങ്ങോട്ടെന്നുമില്ലാതെ, ഒരു പുഴ പോലെ ഒഴുകുന്നു, ലക്ഷ്യമില്ലാതെ, മരിക്കാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവൻ,
